The elastic, Velcro crossover straps and open patella help stabilise the kneecap and keep it running centrally when bending or participating in activity. Flexible steel springs running down the inside and outside of the brace support both sides of the knee yet allow a fairly natural bending and straightening motion. Imagine a flattened coiled spring, this you can bend and wobble forwards and backwards but you cannot twist the actual coils, this is the strength in the brace.
The crossover straps mimic the natural crossing ligaments in the knee especially the ACL (being the most usually tweaked one). With the base neoprene wraparound support, you can tighten the support to fit any shape leg and not have to pull it over your foot. Then tightening the crossover allows a perfectly custom fit to any strength required and to any shape or size of knee. Ideal for those with larger muscles and a slim knee or a knee with no particular definition that find standard pull on brace just don't fit.
Lightweight and comfortable with lock-stitch taped seams and fully trimmed edges for durability.
Ideal for Osgood-Schlatter's Disease, patella tendonitis, minor ligament instability, minor reoccurring pain, runners knee.
A medium level knee support like this will offer enough stability to allow you to increase activity as it will provide compression. It will decrease the need for anti-inflammatory medications as the compression and increased activity will aid blood flow and circuulation. It should decrease pain symptoms associated with patella tendonitis and decrease pain associated with patella tracking by improving the joint function when kept central.
